Explained
The latest java versions 6 and above block applets if certificates are not signed by Certificate Authorities. As this is a free game and has no revenue,I am not spending anything for this .So if you want to enjoy a game of classic and tough cricket hangman do the following
On Windows,Click start,Control Panel,Java ,Edit Exception list add http://crickethangman.50webs.com to it .
See screenshot here Security Change In Java
Ensure you are using JDK/Java 1.7 and do not run update applet to update it to jdk/Java 1.8
To move across levels you need good streaks. The lower levels have a lesser streak requirement as compared to higher levels. For Example, to move from level 9 to level 10 will require a 5 win streak; the complete table listing the streak requirement is given below.

As you can see the best you can hope to finish the game is in 40 straight wins. If you do that you have the best chance of maximizing your score.
Points are simply the product of the level achieved and the average score.
Average Score = (Total Score) /Number of Games Played
Points = Average Score * Current Level.
Obviously the best score is 77. You get across all 11 levels with a score of 7 in each game and never lose. However this is nearly impossible to achieve .The really good scores are the ones that are above 55. If you have a fair knowledge of the game you should be able to get above 45.

· It is a heuristic I use combining the player name toughness and number of matches played.
· To determine the player name toughness, I have assigned scrabble like points for each letter based on frequency of it appearing in a player’s name. I find the average points per letter in the player’s name
· I convert that into a scale along with an equivalent scale for number of matches played and determine a value that gives me the player toughness level
· The below table shows the most frequent letters present in cricketers name and my points system

Yes and yes. Streaks just help you move across levels quicker and maximize your score. The streak displayed in the game is the overall streak achieved so far.
Sure you could but my database is online, hence your applet will not work in your system. Please shoot me a mail if you want an applet with the database included in it. However the downside of that is that your database will not be updated going forward. If you would however like to host the applet in your site, shoot me a mail and we can work something out.
Sorry about that, but my reference is Cricinfo .If the Cricinfo player pages have initials, then so do I. I just need a consistent way that would help everyone settle ambiguity with regards to choices of representing a player’s name
